Environmental Science: Atmospheres (Editor-in-Chief: Neil Donahue, Carnegie Mellon University) is a gold open access journal by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) publishing high-quality research in both fundamental and applied atmospheric science, spanning the entirety of Earth’s atmosphere. This includes atmosphere–biosphere, atmosphere–ocean, and atmosphere–surface interactions.

The journal scope encompasses a broad range of topics relating to aerosols, including formation, nucleation and growth mechanisms, physical and chemical transformations, atmospheric transport and dispersion, and chemistry of multiphase systems coupling gases, aerosols and clouds, understanding the processes and mechanisms of aerosol particle formation, nucleation, and subsequent growth in the atmosphere. Research related to indoor air as well as human health effects is welcomed too.
